Hi all, Last year at the 2021 NLNOG event we announced the release of the new version of IRR explorer. We've published an article on RIPE Labs now on how to read IRR explorer output by looking at some examples. You can find it here: https://labs.ripe.net/author/teun/an-introduction-to-irr-explorer/ If you haven't used IRR explorer before, check it out at https://irrexplorer.nlnog.net! Cheers, Teun

In response to feedback from operational security communities, CAIDA's source address validation measurement project (https://spoofer.caida.org) is automatically generating monthly reports of ASes originating prefixes in BGP for systems from which we received packets with a spoofed source address. We are publishing these reports to network and security operations lists in order to ensure this information reaches operational contacts in these ASes. This report summarises tests conducted within nld. by Sander Steffann 03 Apr '22

03 Apr '22

Hi! Rare vraag misschien, maar heeft iemand nog fibre splicers over? We zijn apparatuur aan het inzamelen om volgende week naar Oekraïne te brengen. En met al die explosies hebben ze hard meer splicers nodig… Donaties welkom :) Cheers! Sander Namens de Global NOG Alliance task force Keep Ukraine Corrected https://keepukraineconnected.org

Survey on DNS resolver operations and DNSSEC
by Moritz Müller 21 Mar '22

21 Mar '22

Hi everyone, The DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) add integrity and authenticity to the Domain Name System (DNS). Now, more than 17 years after their standardization, we would like to hear from DNS recursive resolver operators about their experience with DNSSEC. For this reason, we have set up a short survey. It’s directed mainly towards organisations that run a recursive resolver. Filling out the survey should take roughly 5 to 10 minutes. https://forms.gle/FxTD9FofaogdvLqcA (link directs to Google Forms) This survey is carried out by SIDN Labs (https://sidnlabs.nl) and by the Swedish Internet Foundation (https://internetstiftelsen.se/en/) You can contact us via email: moritz.muller(a)sidn.nl Please excuse us, if you have received this email via different mailing lists. — Moritz Müller Research Engineer at SIDN Labs

NLNOG at MCH2021
by Nathalie Trenaman 25 Feb '22

25 Feb '22

Hi all, As you might know, the organisers of MCH2021 ( https://mch2021.org/#/ <https://mch2021.org/#/>) have started the ticket sales. Some of us in the board of NLNOG thought it would be cool to have an NLNOG Village there. But we had an NLNOG Camp a few years back and although it was great fun, if was a bit expensive for the amount of people that attended. That’s why we decided to first find out if there is enough interest to move forward with this. We’ve set up a 3 question (30 seconds!) questionnaire on SurveyMonkey: https://nl.surveymonkey.com/r/LT86B8G <https://nl.surveymonkey.com/r/LT86B8G> If you don’t want to click links, you can also reply to the questions in this mail: -Are you considering to attend MCH2021? -Would you join the NLNOG Village? -Would you be interested to help out organising? (build-up, program, bar, etc.) It would help us tremendously if you could take 30 seconds to reply or fill in the survey on SurveyMonkey! (Also if you’re not going to attend MCH2021!) Thanks and happy holidays from all of us! NLNOG Crew

Rob Blokzijl award 2022
by Sander Steffann 09 Feb '22

09 Feb '22

Hi all, Message in English for this international Dutch audience :) A reminder that the nominations period for the Rob Blokzijl Award 2022 remains open until 18th March at 23:59 UTC. Please give some consideration to nominating someone in your own community and/or the wider industry in the RIPE region who, in your opinion, deserves to be recognised for their work to make the internet and/or internet community better. The Award Committee are particularly interested to receive nominations of individuals who, in addition to their own contributions have also supported and enabled others anywhere in the world. That may have been discreetly behind the scenes or as the fundamental part of a larger team effort but deserves recognition in your opinion. While you might think your choice may not be the overall winner, please do take the time to nominate them and share with the Award Committee what good you see they have done and what they have achieved either in their local community, the RIPE community or across the world. For the person nominated, it may be a wonderful boost and after all these months (years) of not seeing people at events, it's a nice gesture to let them know you believe they should be considered for this great award and you never know! We are looking forward to reading their stories. Full details here: https://rob-blokzijl-foundation.org/2021/11/25/call-for-nominations-2022/ Best wishes Sander Steffann (on behalf of the Award Committee)
