Help us identify community-driven sessions for the November 11 following OARC 47

Hi, We are planning to offer a full day of community-driven sessions on Wednesday, 11 November, immediately following the main OARC 47 workshop. We'd like to hear from the broader DNS and Internet operations community. What topics or activities would you like to see happen, and what could be realistically organized—or that you would be interested in helping organize? Recent workshop feedback included interest in tutorials and short training sessions, working group and interest group side meetings, BOFs, hackathons, tool demos, and operator round-tables. To make this useful, we need more than topic suggestions: we are especially looking for people who are willing to host a session, help organize one, or point us toward someone who has already expressed interest in leading a specific project, topic, or discussion. This additional day will not require a separate registration fee for OARC 47 attendees. We have conference rooms available from 08:30–16:30 on the 11 November. Each room can accommodate up to 15 participants and includes basic boardroom AV. The day is currently planned around the following schedule: * 08:30–10:00 session block * 10:00–10:30 morning coffee break * 10:30–12:00 session block * 12:00–13:00 lunch * 13:00–14:30 session block * 14:30–15:00 afternoon coffee break * 15:00–16:30 session block Sessions may use one or more blocks depending on the format, organizer availability, and room scheduling. Possible formats include: * hands-on tutorials * OARC tools training or demos * software demos * BOFs * hackathons * focused working group or interest group meetings (for instance standards or BCP discussions) * operator round-tables "help me brainstorm this problem" sessions If you are willing to host something, help organize something, or connect us with someone who may be a good lead for a specific session, please complete the following form by *24 August 2026 23:59 UTC*. We hope this additional day can create space for practical work, smaller-group discussions, and hands-on knowledge sharing that can be difficult to fit into the regular workshop agenda. RTBH Support Across the Industry

Dear Community, We see that RTBH is not as effective as it could be, for various reason, just a few include: * Not all networks support RTBH. * Networks that do support RTBH implement it differently to each other. * There is no one place where one can easily find the info for how to use RTBH with a given network. * Operators have different ideas about how / when / where / why someone should / shouldn't use RTBH. To this end, we have created the first of two surveys. This first one is quantitative and captures how networks have implemented RTBH and provides (1) a public repository which anyone can use to look-up the RTBH details for their peers/upstreams, and (2) an insight into the (mis-)alignment of RTBH implementations across the industry. Free BGP/RPKI routing health check for your ASN — feedback welcome

Hi all, French network engineer here (MPLS backbone operations). I built a small free tool that gives any ASN a routing health check in about 30 seconds, in the browser, no signup: https://sentinelle-routage.fr/en/ What it checks (data from RIPEstat, via a caching proxy): - RIS visibility of your announced prefixes - RPKI/ROA coverage and invalid originations - BGP neighbors overview - an overall grade, with a warning when low visibility may be legitimate (anycast, regional networks) It started on the FRnOG list three weeks ago, where the feedback (including a few sharp reviews) led to fixes: edge caching against RIPEstat rate-limits, false-positive warnings, and an English version. About 200 distinct ASNs have been checked so far. Known limitations, to be upfront: the RPKI check runs on a prefix sample, and there is no IRR consistency check yet (needs a backend, planned). I'm now building the continuous monitoring version (hijack/leak/ROA alerts by email/Telegram + a monthly routing compliance report aimed at NIS2/MANRS) and looking for a handful of founding networks to shape it in beta. Spoofer Report for NLNOG for Jun 2026

In response to feedback from operational security communities, CAIDA's source address validation measurement project (https://spoofer.caida.org) is automatically generating monthly reports of ASes originating prefixes in BGP for systems from which we received packets with a spoofed source address. We are publishing these reports to network and security operations lists in order to ensure this information reaches operational contacts in these ASes. Hoi allemaal, hi all! (English text can be found below) Het is bijna weer zover: op Vrijdag 4 September organiseren we NLNOG Day 2026, ditmaal in Gooiland in Hilversum. Inmiddels is de ticketshop open, en kan iedereen zich aanmelden. Zoals altijd is de toegang voor iedereen gratis door de hulp van onze fantatische sponsors - maar we bieden ook de mogelijkheid om mee te sponsoren door een betaald kaartje aan te schaffen. Alle tickets zijn beschikbaar via https://nlnog.net/tickets . Achter de schermen zijn we bezig om het programma voor deze NLNOG Day weer te vullen met mooie presentaties over interessante onderwerpen. Omdat we dit jaar een grotere locatie hebben, verwachten we niemand teleur te moeten stellen met een uitverkocht evenement.
